My digital garden

June 12th, 2020

A digital garden is a concept I fell in love with a few years ago that somehow sketches how to show a personal profile on the web, at least the way I want mine to work. It lines up with Zettelkasten, or a simple box of notes: you unload thoughts from your head while they still carry their context, as fast and plainly as you can, and you drop them somewhere you trust will not lose them: side project ideas, stray lines, descriptions, short jots, longer developments; it all fits. Later you come back to weed and link what you wrote, following the same chain of thought you had when you needed to get it out of your head. No rigid folder system, no checklist, just notes.

The point of your digital garden is that you decide which of those potentially endless private notes are worth sharing as a public Note, which deep developments deserve a Blog post, and which stretches of work are worth documenting as a Project, as easily as you unloaded the thought in the first place.
