I feel it's more like the experience that happens in your mind when you're reading a science fiction book and the writer needs to explain every detail necessary to make up a specific element that doesn't exist in the real world but simply exists in the writer's mind. You interpret it at will and at your discretion depending on the amount and detail of description by the writer. Only now this process has instantaneous and multiple feedback and you can recreate and modify the idea almost live.

It's like dreaming, but awake.
